About Me
I've always liked reading and watching science fiction and fantasy. There's something majestic about weird creatures, or giant spaceships exploring space and coming across aliens. So I decided to try my hand at writing science fiction (as sciency as possible, not fantasy science) and fantasy. My protagonists will often be Chinese, like I am.
I've learned a little bit of Chinese martial arts, and though I'm a beginner, I try to inject that into my writing in the hopes that it will make it more realistic. But keep in mind, writers need to know so many different subjects, so it's impossible to perfectly write every character's job, such as a medic or spaceship captain. But I will do my best.
I have a BA in American Multicultural Studies, speak Chinese and English, as well as a smattering of Spanish and Burmese, and helps me flesh out alien cultures in my work so that they are unique and have believable motivations and backstory.

My Influences and Writing Style
All too often, I read sequels that repeat the same plots as previous books. I don't do that. In every book I write, I make sure I write new and imaginative things, whether that's flora, fauna, magic, or technology.
My science fiction writing style, as I like to think of it, is a combination of the grittiness of the Earthrise series, and the worldbuilding of The Expeditionary Force series and Koban series.
My science fiction influences are Ender’s Game, Stargate (series), Star Wars, Halo, the Koban series by Stephen Bennett, the Expeditionary Force series by Craig Alanson, and the first six books of the Earthrise series by Daniel Arenson.

My fantasy influences are Redwall, Harry Potter, The Codex Alera series, The Chronicles of Narnia, Deltora Quest, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, and Ranger's Apprentice, Grimm (series), Legacies (series), Warehouse 13 (series), The Shannara Chronicles (series), and The Order (series).
